Matrix Games and Slitherine are holding a Press event in Stresa, Italy. I’m not there unfortunately :) but I’ve just received word from a contact there that they have just announced a new sci-fi 4X game to be released by the end this year (Q4 2012) called Pandora: First Contact. Nothing or very little is known at the moment outside the event but I’ll post about this as soon as I have more details. Stay tuned because in the next few hours we will know more about one more sci-fi 4X game to release this year! You can see the live feed of the event here.

Thanks. Although the credit and confirmation for the find is not really mine but from a guy that is actually there in the press event and that sent me the tip :) I only read “Pandora: First Contact” announced as a new 4X game in the matrix’s fb feed and thought.: “Humm, Pandora? First contact? This .. must be a sci-fi 4X game!??” Well, so it is! :)

Not too proud to say that I sent Adam the tip. :)

Great news! The more 4x games there are, the better they’ll get :D

This is potentially outstanding news. Thanks for the heads-up!

  5. Interesting news. Good find.

Nice place, been there a long time ago to my first SciFi convention.

Interesting, could it be the Eurocon 1980? Were you running for some award? :)

      • bertipa says:

Yes, but I had to read your link to be sure of it. My only winning competition there was that I was the quickest beer drinker between us young attenders.
I got John Brunner signing my copy of “The Sheep Look Up” and helped the guys from ‘Un Ambigua Utopia’ disrupt the prize ceremony going around doing soap bubbles.

        A long time ago…

:D Sounds like you had a lot of fun.
