Hello fellow 4X-Fans!

If you're looking for a new and (very!) complex 4X game, don't mind about graphics, good UIs and actually 'working' to learn a game, check out Aurora at

It really takes some time to get into, but I love the complexity it provides. It's under active development by a single guy and updates are quite frequent, though it is far(!) from done.

After visiting the page I recognized it from SSC,
and I still run into the same problem.
I want to try it out before engaging in what might be the hassle of registering.
There also seem to be some unusual requirements for it.
It looks like a game I would enjoy immensely though.

4x, complex, difficult with no graphics, I'll have to check this out!

Aurora certainly seems to be the deepest thing ever created. Possibly. It's not quite as obtuse as Dwarf fortress, but it rivals it.

I haven't tried it myself yet, but the "Dwarf Fortress of space 4X games" comments make me wary. DF was more fun to read after-action reports for than actually play myself.

I haven't tried Aurora yet. It is also in my to-do list to check and possibly to review. It is not in my top of the list thing to do though.
