Sol Trader: a space game all about people
#1

Hi there,

Thought I'd pop along to mention my space game Sol Trader - it's a space game that's all about people and relationships.

TL; DR: There's a Kickstarter that has less than 24 hours to go - take a look!

You can do all the usual things: trade, run missions, become a pirate, except that the game generates 200 years of characters before you even start the game. The whole game revolves around getting to know these characters. So for example: when you trade you're better off chatting to your cousin's friend because you might get a good price, or when you run a mission you'll need to actually find a specific character, who might have sloped off from work early so won't be where you expect.

When starting a character, you get to make your life choices from birth:

Recently added lighting and combat code:

There's a playable demo you can try and there's Kickstarter running to allow people to get beta access. I'm avoiding Steam Early Access (the game is greenlit, I just didn't want to limit beta users to having to use Steam).

Check it out, let me know what you think! I'm happy to answer any questions people have.

Thanks
Chris
