About

The purpose of this website is to offer to the space and sci-fi gaming community a place where people can catch up and share thoughts and ideas about space and sci-fi strategy gaming in all its different aspects.

Additionally I want to offer a place to the developers of this type of games, where they can present their products in order to keep the space strategy genre alive and vibrant. Anyone is invited to announce their project being it browser-based, AAA, indie, free, commercial, online, open-source, iOS, Mac, PC, facebook, console, 4X, RTS, TBS, MMORTS, RTT you name it. If it’s strategy and space or sci-fi than this is the place to talk about it. If you have or are involved in space/sci-fi games development you can make this site yours as well.

Other purposes of this site are to provide you with space and sci-fi strategy games news, reviews, previews, discussions and promote all space strategy games in general and also to provide you with details regarding new sci-fi and space strategy games that are released or that are currently under development.

My posting objective is to release at least an article every week, and if time allows to post twice a week. And if I’m really inspired and I find the time maybe three times a week. My pursuit is to provide you with valuable content, no rubbish, no waste of your time (or at least I’ll do my best :) ).

About me

Hi, my name is Adam Solo. Like so many of you I love the space exploration subject and also as many of you I love to play space strategy computer games. I’ve been playing space games for a long time now (more than 20 years), way back to the ZX Spectrum (one good example is Rebelstar2).

You can get a feeling of what space strategy games I’ve been playing over the years by reading my blog’s first article entitled: “Space Strategy Games: What’s Next?”. In this article you will find a chronological classification of what I consider to be the space strategy landmarks (which includes the classics Master of Orion series or the Galactic Civilization series), games which I’ve been playing intensely over the years.

My blog, focuses more on my space strategy gaming experience of the 4X genre (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate) but I also love to play all sorts of space and sci-fi strategy related games (TBS, RTS, RTT) and other space games genres which includes space simulation (like the Xwing oldie, or the more recent Nexus: Jupiter Incident) or turn-based space tactics games like the X-COM series (X-COM: Enemy Unknown, aka  UFO Defense, and X-COM: Terror from the Deep) or real-time tactics games like the Homeworld series.

My passion are space and sci-fi strategy games however I also enjoy other turn-based strategy games like the Civilization series or other real-time strategy games like the Red Alert series, Company of Heroes and the TotalWar series. And although this blog is primarily focused on space and sci-fi strategy gaming I plan to post occasionally about other space gaming genres or other non-space strategy games when I find it of interest to the space and strategy gaming community.
