Armada 2526 Expansion Supernova Released!

By on April 14th, 2011 9:17 pm

Armada 2526 Supernova has been released!

You can buy Supernova at Iceberg Interactive (boxed version). If you don’t own the original game you can also buy Armada 2526 (boxed) from Iceberg Interactive with a 33% discount! ;)

Alternatively you can buy Armada 2526 at great price from Gamers Gate (digital download version). You can also buy Supernova at Gamers Gate (download).

I have now an affiliate program with Iceberg and Gamers Gate since the Stardock affiliate program was terminated after Stardock has sold Impulse to GameStop. So remember that when you buy games from SpaceSector.com I get a commission on the sales, so you’re supporting me keeping the space strategy 4x concept alive!

Remember that any version of Supernova will work with any version of Armada 2526. So even if you bought Armada 2526 from Impulse or Gamers Gate you can buy Supernova from any other place and everything will be fine.

For details about this great Armada 2526 expansion check my Supernova Preview.

For information about the original game check my Armada 2526 Review.

If you’re a fan of 4x Sci-fi strategy games (in the scope of Master of Orion) this is the right game for you to try next! Supernova is certified by SpaceSector.com has great 4x sci-fi strategy.

Waiting for Impulse, do you know if it coming there?

    • Adam Solo says:

Strangely Supernova is not yet available in Impulse, although Ntronium Games has assured me Impulse would sell Supernova. Maybe it will appear in a couple of days.

By the way, you don’t have to buy Supernova from Impulse if you want. Any version of Armada 2526 will work with any version of Supernova (confirmed by Ntronium Games). And if you’re talking about the patching system of Impulse, that is not an issue. If you buy another version of Supernova Ntronium games can supply you with patches for any version you buy for sure.

I’m a lazy (Apple) guy, I usually go for the simplest possible way. Got Armada from Impulse, update from Impulse.

Said that sunday I’m away in vacation for two week just with my iPad, I’ll see when I’ll come back.

  3. Adam Solo says:

Paolo, Supernova is now available at Impulse.

  4. Nick says:

So will it be coming out on Steam? I picked it up last week (finally) and am now wondering if I’ve made a terrible mistake.

  5. Adam Solo says:

Neutron, the Director of Ntronium Games, says that all versions of the original version should work with the expansion. However (there is always a catch) there seems to be a problem with Armada 2526 Steam.

Neutron received a question from a guy that suposedly was having problems with the Armada 2526 Steam version and a Supernova version (don’t know from where).

So in conclusion you may be out of luck if you bought Armada 2526 from steam and want to play Supernova … but frankly I don’t know yet. I’m waiting for Neutron to reply soon. I’ll get back to you.

While we’re on the subject of Armada 2526, it looks like that’s the “game of the month” here… but the price says $9.98, but it’s $19.95 on Gamer’s Gate after I click it. What’s up with that? (Yes, I’m interested in this game, so that would be really cool if it were that discounted!)

    • Adam Solo says:

Sorry about the price confusion Happy Corner. Gamers Gate offered a very low price for Armada 2526 when Supernova got out, but now I see they raised it up.

I removed the prices to avoid future confusions. Sorry for that once more.

  7. Happy Corner says:

Doh! If only I had learned about this site sooner. No problem… from what you’ve said about the game, it’s still worth the price. And your opinion probably IS trustworthy, as I’ve enjoyed all the reviews here that I’ve read so far! You’ve put together a very nice 4X site, and I hope to see it keep growing.

    • Adam Solo says:

In my opinion it’s worth the price, and totally worth it if you’re a fan of the genre. Although I think the base game could be a bit cheaper to attract more people (or the expansion).

I didn’t finished my review of Supernova yet but you can see by my preview that the expansion is very promising. I’ve been playing Armada 2526 since the beginning. The game was quite solid by then but had a few major flaws that were promptly fixed by Ntronium people during the next year.

Supernova is a much better Armada 2526, those extra features put Armada among the finest 4x sci-fi games the world has ever seen. But you’ll see the details in the review. In the meantime, if you’re a 4x sci-fi fan, go get it :) You’ll not be disappointed (especially if you liked to play MOO2 or GalCiv2).

Ohh and thanks for your kind words of encouragement. SpaceSector.com is steadly growing since I launch it in 2009. My itention is that people find the site useful and fun: gamers, indie developers, AAA industry, open-source community, modders, etc.

As always if you have any suggestions to improve the site to make it better for you please let me know :)
